About the book

As emergency vehicles converge on the sleepy campus of Wexford College, Eliza Fox, a paralegal and occasional P.I., is at her home nearby, working and watching her young son. Inquisitive by nature, she tries to figure out the cause of the commotion, unaware that her life is about to take a dramatic turn.

Soon Eliza is caught up in a murder investigation involving an Italian exchange student. As the case unfolds, she realizes she must be smarter than the police and a step ahead of the killer. Eliza must overcome her own inexperience and trust her instincts as she fumbles through her first high-stakes case. Follow along as this smart and determined problem-solver puts the pieces together.

In this piece on www.booksbywomen.org Cathleen gives some insight on how the fictional life of Eliza Fox and the real world of private investigators compare. https://booksbywomen.org/fact-fiction-or-a-fusion/

About Cathleen

Merging her experiences as a private investigator with her creative side, Cathleen has written a debut novel, a mystery whose protagonist is — you guessed it — a female P.I. The book is due to be published by Torchflame Books in 2024.

Since studying journalism and photography in college, Cathleen has been drawn to photojournalism. She enjoys capturing images of the natural world, interesting architectural details, and memorable street scenes.

Cathleen grew up in Los Angeles and continues to live in Southern California with her husband, Dennis, and their Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Henry. Their older son and daughter-in-law, and their younger son all live nearby.
